The Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Prevention Programming Office coordinates programs, activities and services related to making healthy life choices regarding substance use. The REAL Project is the programming entity of the AOD Office. The REAL Project offers education, prevention, intervention, assessment, counseling, re-entry and referral services designed to enhance students’ personal and academic success.

Qualified staff is available to assist students with these services; including BASICS (Brief Alcohol Screening and Interventions for College Students). Peer led programming is also an important element of the REAL Project. Professional health educators and trained Peer Educators provide a wide variety of college health related programming to inform students how to make low risk, healthy choices.

REAL Goals and Objectives:

• Acknowledge/mitigate risks of student substance abuse and related violence in the community.
• Develop a shared ownership of substance abuse and related violence by involving campus/community stakeholders, including but not limited to SGA, administrators, faculty and staff members, students, and community leaders.
• Develop, disseminate, interpret and support the enforcement of campus alcohol and other drug policies.
